How to enable/disable a service in RedHat from the command line

To Disable:
  1. stopservice <servicename>
  2. chkconfig <servicename> off
Ex:
stopservice fedora-ds
chkconfig fedora-ds off

To Enable:
  1. chkconfig <servicename> on (or if it hasn't been added before: chkconfig --add <servicename>)
  2. service <servicename> start
Ex:
chkconfig --add fedora-ds
service fedora-ds start
