Register the Device

Add the Device to Adams

  1. Open http://myserver/AdamsAdmin on a desktop not on the device being registered
  2. Login (this user needs to be in a group that has the privilege Register Mobile Device)
  3. Click Add Device
  4. Click Find User
  5. Enter the directory server login name/id of the user the device is assigned to.
  6. Click Search
  7. Select the user under Found Users
  8. Device Type: ex: Samsung S7
  9. Asset Tag: ex: A012345
  10. Click Register

At this point a QR code will appear on the screen. This QR code contains the unique identifier for the device and the name of the registration server. 

Note, the Device Registration Server URL must have been entered into Digital Workplace > Tools > Options > Acquisition > Mobile.

Complete Registration

  1. Open the Adams Upload application on the device (download the app from the app store for the device)
  2. Touch Grant at the bottom of the screen
  3. Answer Yes to the permissions prompts that appear
  4. The camera will now appear active, scan the QR code with the device
  5. When the “successfully registered” message appears touch OK
  6. Close the QR code in Adams Admin

The device is now registered and ready to use.

Note, if while scanning the QR code, the cursor just spins or eventually the message "Failed" appears, then make sure the Adams Admin URL is accessible by the device (e.g. port 80 is open on the server's firewall).

Capture Photos

  1. Open Adams Upload
  2. Touch the Camera icon
  3. Repeat #2 until all photos for the scene have been captured

Close Scene and Upload Photos

  1. Touch Close Scene
  2. Enter a Case # or Toggle “Use Date” to auto-generate a Case # based on the date/time and current user
  3. Touch Close

Assets will begin transferring to the server as long as a network connection is available.

You can immediately begin taking photos for a new scene.
