How to configure Adams to work across domains
Posted by Mont Rothstein on 17 February 2011 05:27 PM

This article explains how to configure Adams to query users and groups that are in multiple domains within the same forest.

Use Port 3268 instead of port 389. 3268 is the Active Directory Global Catalog port. Not all directory servers will necessarily support Global Catalog queries so a change in the directory server may also be necessary.

The Domain Name will need to be the Forest domain and the Base DN/Context will need to be that of the forest.

Ex: Given a domain in forest where users exist in both the setup would be:

Domain Name:
Port: 3268
Base DN/Context: DC=county,DC=gov
